We start off by walking down drottninggatan south towards the old town. First stop is the Consert hall at Hötorget (haymarket). Here you can find fresh fruits or swedish specialties in the Hötorgshallarna market. Now we make our way back to drottninggatan and continue south towards the old town. Second stop is Sergels torg with the famous crystal obelisk. If you like you can lose yourself in Åhlens department store or the big House of Culture building.
Onwards we go on Drottninggatan. Next stop is the Riksdag, where the government presides. You will walk right though a passage between two of the building where the parliament and government sit. GThere are daily guided tours here. Make sure to book in advance at www.riksdag.se
We continue and now enter the old town and its narrow streets. To the left we can also see the Royal castle. Head over there and don’t miss the military parades. Feel free to roam around the cobble streets and get the pictures you need.
Now we will take the Djurgården Ferry to the Vasa Museum. This is probably the most visited museum in all of Sweden. www.vasamuseet.se
Now start you walk back via the beautiful Strandvägen that was specifically built for the World Fair 1897. Royal Dramatic Theatre and the fashionable NK departments store will entertain you for awhile. Head back whenever you wish.
